Background

ZweShoK is a long-term program, founded and started by Zwelitsha born entrepreneurs, with personal connections with these areas, a passion to promote them, as both Tourism and Investment destinations, Trading hubs for both inside and outside small businesses. The original thought was only to focus on Zwelitsha, Bhisho and King William's Town economic development, however since similar economic challenges are also shared by the other surrounding areas and sometimes worse social & economic predicaments, we decided to expand our research and reach to include the above mentioned suburbs and exurbs.

Vision

To see the ZweShoK areas grow with strengthened socioeconomic abilities and integrated into the national grid and modernised.

Objectives of the portal:-

  • Promote and attract tourism opportunities into these areas.

  • To provide a potential trading platform for both established and small businesses in these areas.

  • To publish news and stories taking place in these communities.

  • Portray everyday living and impediments.

  • Uncover opportunities and information - “unknown” to the locals.

  • Acknowledge and celebrate noteworthy achievements by the locals (by students, leadership or anyone).

  • Reveal the state of these areas - good and bad.

  • Align itself with local development programmes (NGOs, government) strategies, in uplifting small businesses and community members.
